How do I access my files using sftp?

SFTP stands for SSH File Transfer Protocol and is used in conjunction with SSH to reliably and securely transfer files over a network. Since SFTP runs over SSH it is necessary to define the correct port. Please note that the VPS 100 does not use the default port 22, the correct SSH port for your VPS is in your welcome email.

There are a number of free sftp clients that you may use to transfer files using sftp.

The main free clients are:

For Mac OSX:

Cyberduck – http://cyberduck.ch/

FireFTP – http://fireftp.mozdev.org/

For Windows

WinSCP – http://winscp.net/eng/index.php

FireFTP – http://fireftp.mozdev.org/

For Linux

FireFTP – http://fireftp.mozdev.org/

You may use sftp in Dreamweaver as well.

Our control panel also provides configuration files for CyberDuck, Dreamweaver and Filezilla. You can download those in the webhosting section of our control panel. Importing them will automatically configure you FTP client for that domain.
