How to change PHP configuration settings for a VPS

You can overwrite PHP settings in your PHP installation by creating a custom configuration file that is read by PHP, named zzz_custom.ini.

This guarantees that your changes will not be removed by upgrades to the PHP installation and ensures that your changes will overwrite other values loaded by default.

Inside zzz_custom.ini, enter your settings like:

For ServerGrove Installations, the file is located in /etc/php54/conf.d/zzz_custom.ini. For PHP 5.3, use /etc/php53/conf.d/zzz_custom.ini.

For Zend Server Installations, the file is located in /usr/local/zend/etc/conf.d/zzz_custom.ini.

You should create the file if it doesn’t exists.
