New mandatory requirements for Domain Registrations and Domain Changes

As of January 1, 2014, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) mandates that all registrars verify the WHOIS contact information for all new domain registrations and domain contact changes (such as: first name, last name, email address, etc)

This applies when: – You register a new domain – A domain changes owners – Your WHOIS contact information changes

What you need to do: When you register a new domain, you will need to verify your WHOIS information. We will use the billing contact data you provided when you ordered the domain to proceed with the verification: please make sure it’s accurate and complete. In case you wish to use other information for the whois database, please contact us via (support ticket).

Verification process for NEW domains:

When you register a NEW domain, the registrant will receive an email with a verification link. The verification email will be sent to the default email on your (ServerGrove profile). You must click this link within 15 calendar days in order to complete the verification process.

Failure to complete the verification process will result in the suspension of the registered domain(s)

If contact information on your verification request was not successfully completed, or you provided inaccurate or unreliable information, the domain(s) will be suspended. This means, eNom takes over the DNS of the domain and posts a page on the domain with instructions on how it can be verified and have the DNS returned to their default settings.

NOTE: Once you have completed the verification process, all future new registrations using the same Registrant contact information will be considered verified and will not be subject to the verification process.

Verification process for Information changes to existing domains:

Any change to your first name, last name, or e-mail address will also require verification. The verification process is the same as with new domains.

Your Responsibilities:

1) You assume sole responsibility for the registration and use of your domain name and will comply with applicable policies from ServerGrove, the Registry and ICANN.
2) You must provide accurate information and immediate updates to reflect any changes.
3) You must respond to all inquiries within fifteen (15) days, and keep your Registrar account data current.
